Description: General Statement of Duties:The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform any combination of instructional tasks in the classroom to assist the teaching staff. Incumbents may teach one or more subjects to learners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1.Strive to implement the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives of the District.
2.Instruct students the lessons outlined per the teacher’s instructions. Discuss assigned teaching area with teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
3.Promote learning and development through recognizing individual differences and cultural patterns.
4.Interact with students utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
5.Assist all children, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts with the Instructor.
6.Administer tests to evaluate pupil progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress and correct homework as directed by teacher.
7.Modify or adapt curriculum to meet the needs of the student.
8.Assist with attendance records.
9.Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Maintain discipline in classroom. Ensure a safe environment for students and staff.
10.Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
11.Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
12.Compose, type, and maintain routine correspondence, reports, and various other materials and projects. Submit reports and documents as directed.
13.Operate modern office equipment, to include computers and educational equipment. . Perform other related duties and functions as assigned.
14.Attend meetings, training, and seminars as deemed appropriate and necessary.
15.Work directly with highly sensitive personnel and student information. Maintain confidentiality of work related information.
16.Perform all duties in compliance with safety standards established by the District.Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable to hiring authority.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to work well with subordinates, public entities, educational professionals, etc.
Salary: $13.5 per hour
