Description: Job Title: Scientist, Systems EngineeringJob Code: 19489Job Location: Tulsa, OK (Onsite)Schedule: 9/80Job Description:As a Scientist of Systems Engineering at L3Harris Aeromet you will be the senior technical thought leader for Model Based Systems Engineering in a department of approximately 20 systems engineers split over two operating sites. The primary role is to lead the systems modeling effort for the program to which you are assigned. Secondary role is to assist systems engineering department and site leadership with the development of the MBSE capabilities for the site and be part of digital engineering development at Aeromet. You will lead by example and demonstration.Essential Functions:
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time may be required.
- Using Cameo, perform the role of lead MBSE for assigned program.
- Will be required to have awareness of all the programs at the site and look for ways to share information and experiences between systems engineering team members on different programs.
- Provide overall technical guidance, architecture, digital thread implementation, perform modeling for programs to which you are assigned. This is an active program impacting role, not just a senior director.
- Critique team members work and provide nudges and guidance to improve our MBSE and digital thread approach to systems engineering.
- Provide direction to team senior systems engineering team members,
- Coordinate test and integration with the digital thread.
- Familiar with classical V-Diagram systems engineering as well and how to translate to MBSE concepts.
- Willingness to develop fellow engineers and team members
- Willingness to develop programs and work with program managers to show the value of MBSE
- Willingness to develop overall MBSE concepts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- 4+ years of experience working with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and ideas and tools.
- 4+ years of experience using the Cameo suite of tools to achieve MBSE objectives from design through V&V and delivery of product.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active DoD security clearance.
- Certificate or master’s in systems engineering in addition to base technical degree
- Demonstrated leadership skills, certificate or training in leadership
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools in a SharePoint / Teams environment to effectively communicate to systems engineering team members and site leadership.
