You would work as a member of a dynamic team within our Energy Solutions Operation, working in a fast-paced environment, and solving challenging Protection and relay settings engineering problems in a wide range of application from distribution to transmission voltage levels.HYBRID SCHEDULE AVAILABLE: (2-4) days a week in the Framingham, MA office!*Candidates must be located in or able to relocate to the Framingham, MA area.In the protection engineering role, the qualified individual will require a combination of strong engineering and interpersonal skills and high attention to detail with a passion for quality. The position will include reporting to project managers, provide input in engineering review meetings and performing design quality reviews. Additionally, the candidate may be responsible for interfacing directly with clients and other staff in remote office locations. Assignments cover the full range of project planning through scoping, design and construction support.   • Solving and implementing Protection engineering philosophies and applications.
  • Working with design engineers and performing quality reviews.
  • Providing input on relay implementations and applications such as fuse sizing and CT/PT selection.
  • Working directly with clients as well as working with other staff in remote office locations.
  • Assignments will cover the full range of project scoping through design, relay settings and construction support.
  • Perform protection and automation scheme testing using Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS).

What you will bring to the table:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred emphasis on power system or sustainable energy)
  • Mid-Level : B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering with (4+ years) of relevant experience
  • Senior Level : B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering with (7+ years) of relevant experience

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience with One and Three-line diagram
  • Control and protection schemes including the preparation of schematics and wiring diagram.
  • Experience using ASPEN One-Liner is a plus
  • Previous Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience is a plus
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure situations
  • Team player who can work effectively in team environment
  • Self-starter who works independently with minimal direction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required when interfacing with clients and staff
  • High level of computer competency
  • Periodic travel may be required for project kickoff meetings in the substation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teams and/or Leidos clients
