Description: Lower School PsychologistTo Begin in August 2025The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are seeking a Lower School Psychologist for the 2025-2026 school year.Position Overview:We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated School Psychologist who will provide individual and group services to students- including counseling services- that emphasize improved academic and social-emotional outcomes, foster strong communication with parents and colleagues, and contribute to our mission of developing students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens.Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, review, and modify behavior intervention plans.
- Identify students in need of counseling and social services.
- Work closely with students’ families to ensure that there is communication around the support that students receive in school and what additional support may be needed outside of school.
- Collaborate with teachers, chair of student support services, IESP providers, and instructional leadership to collaborate services for students with IESPs.
- Make external service referrals to quality providers.
- Collaborate with the Lower School Dean of Students to proactively support students and their families.
- Collaborate with the school’s student support team to provide teachers with behavioral and academic strategies, support, resources and professional development.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience working at a school as an interventionist or psychologist.
- A firm understanding of Child and School Psychology.
- Commitment to continuing education as a school psychologist throughout your career.
- Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.
- Ability to maintain and organize confidential records.
- Understanding of and commitment to following all related laws and standards.
- Organizational, scheduling and planning skills needed to manage complex schedules, including those of many students.
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree required, Ph.D. recommended as an eventual education goal for school psychologists.

- Pay Rate: $90,000-$110,000
- Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-term Disability, Short-term Disability, Accident and Critical Illness Insurance, 11 days of Personal/Sick time, Holiday Pay
