Description: The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston, is seeking a full-time Lower School Math Specialist to join our faculty for the 2025-2026 school year.Meadowbrook is a mission-driven school and we invite candidates to familiarize themselves with before applying for the position.We seek an educator who sees themselves as an ambassador for the discipline and demonstrates a love of learning and teaching. They should also have a demonstrated background or interest in cultural competency, curriculum development, and technology integration. Mathematics at Meadowbrook follows the Singapore Math program in all grades and is taught a grade level ahead.   • Full-time teaching Lower School math teacher (grades Junior Kindergarten to 5)
  • Support students in a variety of ways including; direct instruction for acceleration, general instruction, provide more support for students who need it
  • Demonstrate an ability to identify conceptual understanding, adjusting lesson plans accordingly to meet the needs of the students.
  • Identify the developmental stages of elementary-aged students while providing an environment that results in a deep conceptual understanding of the curriculum.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with using a variety of math manipulatives.
  • Assist in overseeing the scope and sequence of the Lower School Math program
  • Write narrative reports and complete checklists for students
  • Participate in parent/guardian conferences and support the parent/guardian/teacher and home/school partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with the Lower School Math Coordinator
  • Model, coach, and support teachers in the implementation of differentiated instructional practices in support of faculty growth
  • Assist in the data collection for performance based group placement
  • Work 1:1 with students on extension and remediation as needed
  • Plan and engage in parent events connected with math learning as appropriate
  • Serve on Lower School admissions committee as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Advanced degree in mathematics education or certification as an elementary math specialist (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with Singapore Math curriculum (preferred)
  • A minimum of three years working with elementary school-aged students, in particular, experience in mathematic instruction
  • Demonstrated experience with current best practices in child-centered instructional methods such as project-based learning, design thinking, making thinking visible, etc.
  • Collaborative skills, including the ability to work with adults
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify student conceptual understanding and ability, and adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet the needs of the students.
  • Ability to identify the developmental stages of elementary-aged students while providing an environment that results in a deep conceptual understanding of the curriculum.

Annualized salary for faculty is determined according to a step scale commensurate with experience.
