Description: Summary StatementEnforce Federal and State Anti-discrimination Laws.� Conducting intake interviews to generate charges of discrimination.� �investigate discrimination complaints, analyze relevant and pertinent data, recommend Preliminary and Final Determinations, conduct Mediations and Conciliations.� Conduct on-site inspections to ensure Employers are following Civil Rights requirements Ensures timely processing and review of complaints by coordinating, monitoring, and streamlining complaint procedures. Conduct and provide community outreach/education concerning equal opportunity and nondiscrimination requirements; performs other duties as assigned.�\r\nPreferred QualificationApplicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.\r\n\r\n\r\n Read, write, and speak English and Spanish fluently.\r\n\r\n\r\nEssential FunctionsEssential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.� Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Investigates and resolves complaints and enforces various state labor standards and civil rights laws.\r\n \r\n Advises employers, employees, attorneys and other interested parties of the applicability and interpretation of the various laws; provides information to the general public regarding labor standards and civil rights laws, regulations and filing procedures.\r\n \r\n Gathers, examines, and interprets data such as payroll, medical and other records to determine amount due; collect wages and benefits if applicable.�\r\n \r\n May participate in annual prevailing wage survey of contractors; provides prevailing wage determinations to governmental entities, contractors, architects, contracting agencies and others requesting information.\r\n \r\n Prepares case summaries, reports, and correspondence for cases.� Maintains records of complaints received and disposition of cases.�\r\n \r\n Keeps abreast of changes in the law, new interpretations; attends training seminars or conferences.\r\n\r\n\r\nJob Requirement SeriesJOB REQUIREMENTS for Labor Law Enforcement Officer I\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:�\r\n\r\n Bachelors degree or higher which includes coursework in conducting studies, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and studying laws, rules, or regulations.\r\n\r\nOR\r\n\r\n Six months experience in conducting investigations which includes conducting interviews to obtain confidential information, gathering evidence, and documenting findings. \r\n Six months experience in resolving labor law or employment discrimination complaints. \r\n Six months experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. \r\n Six months experience in narrative report writing.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n JOB REQUIREMENTS for Labor\r\n Law Enforcement Officer II\r\n Applicants must have\r\n education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following\r\n areas:\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n One year experience in\r\n conducting investigations which includes conducting interviews to obtain confidential\r\n information, gathering evidence, and documenting findings.\r\n Six months experience in resolving\r\n labor law or employment discrimination complaints.\r\n Six months experience in interpreting\r\n laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.\r\n Six months experience in narrative\r\n report writing.\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n JOB REQUIREMENTS for Labor Law Enforcement Officer III\r\n Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n \r\n \r\n Three years experience in conducting investigations which includes conducting interviews to obtain confidential information, gathering evidence, and documenting findings.\r\n Three years experience in resolving labor law or employment discrimination complaints.\r\n Three years experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.\r\n Two years experience in developing and conducting staff training.\r\n Two years experience in narrative report writing.\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\nAdditional Posting InformationThe State of Delaware recognizes the value of�telework and flexible working schedules.�This position is eligible for Telework according to the State of Delaware’s Alternative Work Arrangement Policy.
