What You Will Do:
- Plan instructional tasks that are meaningful and related to learning goals.
- Communicate a high-level of expectation and clear learning goals to students.
- Adapt instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Conduct on-going assessments for learning.
- Display enjoyment, humor, and enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning.
- Establish appropriate classroom rules and procedures that are clearly understood by all students.
- Participate in professional growth opportunities and demonstrate professionalism.
- Follow Agency and School policies and procedures.
- Support Agency goals.
- Report student progress through initial, quarterly, annual, and discharge reports in accordance with accreditation, licensing, and Agency standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

RequirementsEducation:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education is Required.
- Master’s Degree and/or Special Education Endorsement is Preferred
Licensure:
- Possession of a valid South Dakota Teaching Certificate Required.
- A Special Education Certification Endorsement is Preferred.
Skills:
- Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and software utilized by office.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Classroom environment focused on the instruction of children with emotional and behavioral issues.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to physically restrain a child in ways taught by the Agency while being able to verbally communicate to the child and other staff.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
