As the Principal, you will develop and communicate a clear vision for academic excellence and school improvement, oversee the implementation of rigorous academic programs, recruit and mentor faculty, and continue to build upon the strong school culture at FGHS. Building and maintaining strong relationships with parents, community members, and local organizations will be essential in promoting the school’s mission and vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAn individual who holds this position is responsible for:Supervision of instructionEvaluation of staffTraining of staffMaking hiring recommendations to the BoardGeneral supervision of studentsSupervision of student activities and eventsImplementation of the professional development planMaintaining building recordsPreparation and management of the building budgetCreation and update of student handbooksPositive interaction with studentsAdministration of student disciplineMotivation of staffAdministration of meal service and the free and reduced lunch program in the building in conjunction with the Food Service DirectorAn individual who holds this position is expected to attend:Board meetingsStudent activities and eventsIEP meetingsSupervisory DutiesHas supervisory responsibility over all building staff.QualificationsEducationMaster’s degree or higher in educational administrationCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Missouri principal’s certificate for the appropriate grade levelsSkills and AbilitiesLanguageAn individual who holds this position must have the ability to:Present information to staff members, other administrators and the Board of EducationRespond to common questions and complaintsInterview students and staffRead, analyze and interpret professional journals, government memos, Board policy, administrative procedure and statutesWrite newsletter articles, staff memos and ordinary business correspondenceKeep information confidential when required by law, policy or a particular situationComputationAbility to compute ratios, percentages and create and interpret graphs and figuresReasoningAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsTechnologyBasic computer word processing, spreadsheet and research skillsAbility to access and create reports using the district’s student information softwareThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
