POSITION LOCATION: Orlando, FL (relocation benefits are not available for this position)Government Operations Consultant IINTERNALYour Specific Responsibilities:This is responsible management and consulting work involved in assisting in the operation of a telephone call center for the reemployment assistance program. The incumbent must have extensive knowledge of reemployment assistance laws and rules in order to efficiently handle issues with claims and assist call center agents.Receive request for assistance from agents. Use computer to access records. Determine what action to take to resolve the questions and/or problems. Resolve the problem using available programs.Receive inbound calls from the general public and employers. Explain the reemployment assistance program to callers and direct them to the appropriate place to file the claim. Refer them to community resources and One Stop Centers as appropriate.Under the direction of the manager, coordinate the work of staff members; assist with the training and coaching of staff members; check the work of others for accuracy; answer questions; and serve as a program expert.Handle the more difficult or complex claims questions as needed or directed by the supervisor. May conduct fact-finding interviews or adjudication of claims may enter appeals reversals.Assist in developing and maintaining internal processes for handling claims.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of reemployment assistance law, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendation, solve problems, document work flow, and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies, and procedures relating to operational management analysis activities.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Qualifications:As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.Minimum:

  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
  • Travel may be required to travel.

Preferred:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in Reemployment Assistance and/or Workforce Services.
  • Have working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
