Description: Position SummaryResponsible for the management, growth and retention of municipal deposit relationships. As well as new to bank consumer and business relationships.Essential Functions

  • Acts as the primary liaison between existing and new municipalities to enhance existing relationships and onboard new by providing competitive bid packages.
  • Acquire new business acquisition, customer retention, and the cross-sale of the bank’s suite of financial products and services for commercial, small business, consumer, and governmental customers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with trade associations, cooperative councils, the financial community, and other institutions.
  • Represent the bank in meetings with customers, government, community, and industry leaders to provide enhanced value and develop meaningful partnerships and alliances.
  • Drive profitability by ensuring the financial impact of all business decisions is independently evaluated and recommendations made to the business to mitigate any financial risks.
  • Review financial impacts of new business proposals, transactions and financial trends, concepts, principles, and regulations to determine actual and/or potential effects on the business entity.
  • Work closely with Area Managers and Business Development Officers when they have identified opportunities to onboard or deepen municipal relationships
  • Create bid proposal packages and ensure delivery by the bid due date
  • Ensure municipal accounts are properly coded after account openings

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Leveraging a strong entrepreneurial spirit, drive business growth strategy and profitability.
  • Proven track record of growing top line revenue while also driving profitability and value in a commercial bank business, without sacrificing the highest level of customer service.
  • Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization and with external regulators.

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA required.
  • 10+ years commercial and retail sales/business development experience
  • Thorough knowledge of bank regulations, policies, and procedures

  • High capacity to articulate the case for sound financial and credit practices in the language of business.
  • Ability to work across all levels of the organization to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of risk and regulations at both a strategic level and at the business unit level.
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess financial trends and react to them.
  • Ability to drive change in a new environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
  • MS Word Suite
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents, governmental regulations, financial reports and professional publications.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from executive management, attorneys, vendors, government agents, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time up to 75% of work hours.
  • Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information.
  • Ability to talk, listen and see.
  • Ability to use telephone to communicate with customers and employees.

Working Conditions

  • Moderate sound as in business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic.
