Description: Early Childhood Education Food Services Lead and Float TeacherLund’s Early Childhood Program seeks a dynamic and versatile individual to join our team of educators in a hybrid role that blends culinary creativity with classroom support. We’re looking for a teammate who is organized, flexible, dependable, and energized by a dual-purpose role that enriches children’s lives.As the Food Services Lead, you’ll plan and prepare nutritious, budget-friendly meals that meet Child Adult Care Food Program standards while fostering a clean, organized, collaborative kitchen environment. In the Float Teacher role, you’ll provide vital classroom support, ensuring children’s safety, well-being, and developmental growth by stepping in for teachers during planning time, breaks, and absences.Other responsibilities include:Collaborate and support teachers in facilitating enriching cooking activities for children as requested.Communicate regularly with childcare staff regarding food service delivery and needs.Report suspected child abuse or neglect to DCF in accordance with state regulations.Maintain confidentiality of children and families.Communicate and reiterate Lund’s policies related to parents when necessary.Model appropriate interactions with children for parentsReport any concerns regarding staff, children, or families to the Childcare Coordinator and aid in the resolution as appropriate.Assist in training interns, volunteers, and substitutes as needed.Prepare for and attend necessary meetings, training, and supervision.Research shows that individuals from marginalized groups—such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, people with disabilities, and those from working-class backgrounds—often hesitate to apply for jobs unless they can see themselves meeting and performing every responsibility and requirement.
