Description: As the International School of Texas (IST) continues to grow, we announce our search for a full-time Lead Teachers to begin duties in August 2025. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) students. IST students become lifelong learners as they progress through the PYP, learning in a collaborative and inquiry-based environment. It is our mission to nurture curious students who take an inquiring perspective about the world and are inspired to continue learning, growing, and taking action for the stewardship of our planet.The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a grade level class and collaborate with IST’s subject area specialist educators (including STEM, Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, and Mandarin) to ensure student engagement and curriculum alignment. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:The Lead Teacher must have experience teaching in the primary years. The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning. This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom.In addition to teaching responsibilities, IST faculty have the opportunity to lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience. From soccer and art clubs to robotics and cross-country, IST Trailblazers take their learning outside of the classroom through their participation in clubs and teams that enrich their bodies and minds.IST is an independent, not for profit, secular private school. • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred and increased stipend rewarded.
• Teaching Certification from any state or country.
• Two or more years of Primary teaching experience.
• Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required
