We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Elder Abuse Attorney to join our dynamic team. As an Elder Abuse Attorney at J&Y, you will play a critical role in representing clients who have been victims of elder abuse and personal injury. You will have the opportunity to work on high-impact cases while making a real difference in the lives of the elderly and vulnerable. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Litigation: Represent clients in trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions related to elder abuse and personal injury claims.
  • Case Management: Handle a caseload from inception to resolution, including the preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, providing updates and maintaining a compassionate, client-centered approach throughout the litigation process.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure effective case management and coordination.
  • Legal Research & Strategy: Conduct legal research and analysis, stay up to date with elder abuse law, and help craft winning legal strategies.

Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Elder Abuse and Personal Injury law, with a proven track record in complex litigation.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • Extensive trial experience and the ability to manage all aspects of litigation from discovery through trial.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate, client-focused approach, with a passion for fighting for the rights of vulnerable individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to clearly articulate complex legal concepts.
  • Ability to travel throughout California for court hearings, depositions, trials, and arbitrations as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience handling Elder Abuse cases with a focus on nursing home abuse, physical abuse, financial exploitation, and neglect.
  • Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish, is a plus.
  • Leadership skills, with a desire to mentor and guide junior attorneys or staff.
