We look forward to meeting you.The RoleHII – America’s largest shipbuilder and a global, all-domain defense provider – has an opportunity for a Corporate Director, Government Customer Relations (GCR) (Mission Technologies Portfolio), located in Arlington, VA and reporting to the HII Corporate Vice President, Customer Relations (Mission Technologies Portfolio). The successful candidate will support HII’s rapid growth by coordinating government and customer relations activities focused on the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC) and related public policy organizations. Primary responsibility is to serve as the liaison between HII’s Government and Customer Relations department, its Mission Technologies (MT) Division and all Customer stakeholders in the MT Enterprise. Other responsibilities include:
Must HaveBachelors degree in a relevant discipline, plus a minimum of 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience OR Master’s degree and 8 years relevant experience.Must possess established relationships within the DoD and IC and associated customer communities.Must have demonstrated existing relationships with senior level DoD and IC officials.Must have firm understanding of the Federal Government budget, investments and acquisition processes and participation in government procurements.Nice to HaveExperience in Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community with a preference to USAF, USMC, USA or other agencies.Former uniformed service in the US Military highly desirable.Experience in DoD Budget development; an understanding of DoD’s Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process.Operational experience in relevant MT Business Unit areas.Previous service in a senior level government position.Master’s degree.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.Be both strategic and accountable for detailed follow-through.Be capable of working successfully in an entrepreneurial, highly collaborative, and fast-moving global organization.Why HII
