Description: Location: Burkesville, KYAbout this opportunity: (Seasonal)Plans, coordinates, and leads arts and crafts activities and programs at camp; maintains all arts & crafts materials and supplies. Ensures quality and cleanliness of supplies & assigned area. Trains camp staff to lead, chaperone and monitor arts & crafts activities and ensures safety and a positive experience for campers.Key responsibilities:Plans, coordinates, and participates in a variety of arts and craft activities for the campers; organizes activities and promotes participation.Monitors the arts and crafts activities to ensure safety of participants; instructs campers and staff in proper methods for operating tools; monitors and directs behavior at all times to ensure compliance with camp rules.Assists counselors with the development of art kits for use by cabins.Maintains accountability and inventory of all arts and craft tools, materials, and supplies; orders or purchases needed supplies and materials as approved.Ensures the arts and crafts area and supplies are clean and free from debris at all times. Identifies potential hazards and responds appropriately and in a timely manner.Secures and locks all arts/crafts equipment and supplies after each session.Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines as well as American Camp Association accreditation standards.Trains other camp staff to lead, chaperone and monitor arts and crafts activities.Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights and other all-camp activities and camp functions.Sits with camper tables during meals and serve as a table monitor when needed.Perform as necessary ministry functions such as presenting approved devotional material to campers, praying with a camper, or leading in Christian songs, etc.Keeps personal living quarters neat, clean and ready for inspection.Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Director.Performs other duties as assigned.What we are looking for in you:Two years’ experience performing and coordinating arts and crafts projects preferred,orany equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Some physical requirements of the Camp Arts & Crafts Specialist position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate arts/crafts equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available.
