Description: DescriptionJob Summary –
Assists and supports the Executive Director in the implementation of the strategic vision of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. Works to promote academic collaborations on campus, artistic collaborations within the community/region, and promote the Center’s exhibitions to increase visibility, locally, regionally and nationally.Examples of DutiesCharacteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Grant Writing:
Participate in grant writing and fundraising initiatives to support the Center’s mission 25%
Staff Supervision:
Oversee and develop the Arts Educator position, supervise office staff and student employees 20%
Community Engagement & Education:
Strengthen community ties through Arts Education programs, manage in-house and outreach initiatives including the Artmobile programs
Exhibition Planning & Management:
Oversee the planning, booking, installation, and de-installation of temporary and traveling exhibitions. Manage day-to-day operations of the gallery, advise the Executive Director on visual arts issues, and ensure the smooth running of the exhibition schedule 35%
Collections Management:
Manage all materials loaned to the Center, oversee cataloging and care of the University Art Collection, and handle artwork requests for campus locations.Responsible for outgoing loans to approved institutions. Responsible for the cataloging (data base and paper files) and storage of items in the University Art Collection, as well as care and maintenance of those works of art in the collection. Responds to requests for artwork at locations other than the Center on campus. Frame, hang and keep records.
20%Typical QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree required in Arts, Administration, or EducationYears of Experience – (indicate required or preferred number of years and in which specific areas)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in museum administration including conservation and preservation guidelines for artwork and facilities management.Certification and/or Licensure

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and skill in museum exhibition development.
Knowledge of current standards in Museum education
Familiar with various methods of research and the proven ability to research effectively.
Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
