Description: Lake Forest High School District 115 is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Art Teacher for Spring Semester 2025, from January 6th, 2025 to March 5th, 2025.Description: Lake Forest High School District 115 is seeking a creative, experienced, and engaging Art Teacher substitute for January of 2025 with an emphasis in animation, 2D AP Art, ceramics, and photography. The candidate should have a strong command of designing, delivering, and assessing student growth in an environment that incorporates inquiry, feedback, critical thinking, and effective assessment practices for all students. The candidate will be part of a very collaborative Art team that works together to creatively support one another and the growth of students. Please be prepared to share a personal portfolio of work with an emphasis on the subjects listed above.Essential Functions:Fosters a creative, flexible and enthusiastic environment that serves and inspires student engagement and learningUtilizes flexibility, creativity, and initiative in curriculum creation and deliveryMaintains positive and professional relationships with administration, Board of Education, faculty/staff and parentsCooperatively plans and participates in multiple art shows each school yearCooperatively facilitates dialogue with our feeder school art programsDemonstrate exceptional content knowledge and pedagogical skill in art, with the ability to adapt instruction to suit a diverse range of student backgrounds and interestsEmploy effective communication and collaboration skills when interacting with students, faculty, and parents, to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.Facilitate a classroom environment that encourages student collaboration and discourse, enhancing the learning experience for all.Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and refine course learning objectives, common assessments, and curricula.Participate in team-based approaches to student remediation and the continuous enhancement of instructional practices.Partner with Special Education and Student Services to meet the needs of identified students.Use technology proficiently and ethically for planning, collaboration, instruction, and assessment.
Qualifications:Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Art endorsement – requiredMaster’s Degree from an accredited program – preferredExperience teaching art at the high school level – preferred
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift. Repetitive motions are required. The employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
