Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to work in a local government agency that provides housing to low-income families and seniors in our community.DESCRIPTION OF WORKAn Accountant 1 applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information. You will prepare financial reports for Housing Authority programs and ensure the Authority’s accounting records are accurate and in compliance. Additionally, you will maintain the general ledger for multiple housing authority programs and funding sources, oversee tenant accounting, including distribution of billing statements, posting of payments, and reconciliation of accounts; process and post bank deposits and collections loss information; be the petty cash custodian; and be responsible for the tracking of utility consumption and payments.Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
• Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting; or
• One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.
