Join our flagship university and take the first step toward advancing your career.Opportunities to contribute:Deliver academic advising to current and prospective undergraduate students in the College of Arts & SciencesAssist students with course selection, review degree plans, and guide students on academic, probationary, and financial concernsAdvise students on how best to fulfill degree requirements; course adjustments; Q-dropsWork with prospective transfer students and readmitted studentsCounsel students who are looking to change their majorStay up to date on student policies, deadlines, procedures, appeals processesRefer students to appropriate resources when neededWork to improve academic advising servicesEnhance retention and graduations ratesAssist with New Student ConferencesDevelop community within and lifelong affinity for the College of Arts & SciencesQualifications:Academic Advisor IIBachelor’s degreeTwo years of academic advising or related experienceA well-qualified candidate for any of these positions will also possess:Master’s degree or above in education, counseling, or general subject area of placementAcademic advising experience within a higher education institutionNACADA or TEXAAN certificate of participationKnowledge of Texas A&M advising programs & systems such as Compass and HowdyStarting Salary:Academic Advisor II: $49,500.00What you need to do:Apply!
