As an Academic Advisor, you will provide personalized academic guidance to undergraduate students and assist these students in navigating degree requirements, course selection, and career pathways.Opportunities to contribute:Deliver academic advising to current and prospective undergraduate students in the College of Arts & SciencesReview degree plans and guide students on academic, probationary, and financial concernsAdvise students on how best to fulfill degree requirementsDevelop and implement advising programs and workshopsCounsel students who are looking to change their majorStay up to date on student policies, deadlines, procedures, appeals processesRefer students to appropriate resources when neededWork to improve academic advising services to enhance retention and graduations ratesAssist with New Student ConferencesDevelop community within and lifelong affinity for the College of Arts & SciencesQualifications:Academic Advisor IIIBachelor’s degreeFour years of academic advising within higher educationA well-qualified candidate for any of these positions will also possess:Knowledge of Texas A&M advising programs & systems such as Compass and Howdy, as this position advises on degree programs, course planning and selections, and career and academic goalsMaster’s degree or above in education, counseling, or general subject area of placementNACADA or TEXAAN certificate of participationExperience as an Academic Advisor at Texas A&M UniversityStarting Salary:Academic Advisor III: $54,450.00What you need to do:Apply!
