KIPP Indy teachers are responsible for delivering effective instruction that prepares students for success on the AP exams and beyond, fostering critical thinking and strong writing skills.RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and implement rigorous art lesson plans that align with state standards and College Board guidelines.
• Regularly assess and track student performance, leveraging data to adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain a positive and focused learning environment that fosters academic and personal growth.
• Build strong relationships with students and their families, supporting both academic success and personal development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan instruction and contribute to the curriculum.
• Provide timely, actionable feedback to students on their assignments.
• Scaffold instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including multilingual and diverse learners.
• Actively work with academic coaches to continuously improve instructional practices, embrace feedback, and implement strategies for professional growth.
• Take ownership of your professional development by seeking out learning opportunities and reflecting on your teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana teaching license or applying for reciprocity with a valid out-of-state license (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Art or related field (required).
• Experience teaching art K-12 courses (preferred).
• Proven success in helping students succeed academically, especially in underserved communities (preferred).
• Commitment to the KIPP mission and community (required).
• Pass a criminal background check (required).

Additional InformationLicensed teacher starting at $50,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a highly competitive benefits package.
