TalentoHCM is partnered with a $1b+ revenue organization with 10,000+ employees that provides public sector technology and back-office solutions enabling $800b+ in healthcare spend. They are looking to add a remote Sr. Cobol Developer to their organization for a long-term assignment.Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize COBOL applications.
• Work with DB2, VSAM, JCL, and utilities like ICEMAN/Syncsort and IDCAMS.
• Utilize Expeditor for debugging and troubleshooting.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support.
• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Analyze testing results, identify discrepancies, and provide clear explanations.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines and coding standards.
• Leverage tools like CICS, ISPW, and Control-M, where applicable.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, ICEMAN/Syncsort, IDCAMS, and Expeditor.
• Proven ability to follow directions and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; self-starter with a proactive mindset.
• Experience with software testing, evaluation of results, and effective communication of findings.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Hands-on experience with CICS.
• Familiarity with ISPW for source code management.
• Exposure to Control-M for job scheduling and automation
