With a population of more than 636 students in grades nine through twelve, Holy Name High School provides young men and women with a nurturing and supportive educational environment in which to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and morally.Job Overview:Holy Name High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Fine Art Teacher to join our faculty full-time. The ideal candidate will inspire and nurture students’ creative potential while promoting an appreciation for the visual arts. This individual will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive fine arts curriculum that fosters artistic growth, technical skills, and critical thinking in alignment with the school’s values and educational goals.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned art lessons for high school students.
  • Teach a variety of art disciplines, including but not limited to drawing, painting, ceramics ,and printmaking
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through projects, portfolios, and other assessments.
  • Organize and manage classroom materials, equipment, and supplies effectively.
  • Coordinate student participation in art showcases, exhibitions, and competitions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in art education and integrate new techniques into the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (BFA) or a degree in Education with a concentration in Art.
  • Commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and to best practices in Catholic education. Familiarity with the teachings, traditions, and policies, which apply to formation and development of high school-aged youth.
  • The position requires VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check.
  • Valid teaching certification (preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of artistic mediums and techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to fostering a love for the arts and supporting diverse learning styles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at the high school level or postsecondary level.
  • Familiarity with integrating technology and digital tools in the art classroom.
  • Ability to manage and curate art displays for school events and exhibitions.
