Description: Job Details:Kingman Unified School District consists of thirteen schools and approximately 7800 students and 340 teachers. There are four K-5 schools, one pre-K school, two middle schools (6-8), one K-8 school, one K-6 school, two 9-12 high schools, one self paced academic process campus, and one online learning academy.Kingman, Arizona is located in northwestern Arizona in the Hualapai Valley between the Cerbat and Hualapai Mountain ranges. Kingman is known as “The Heart of Historic Route 66” and is ideally situated between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the Grand Canyon. For those who enjoy small to mid town life, but like big city nearby, we have Henderson/Las Vegas an hour and a half drive north which is great for quick day trips! For those who love fishing or water activities, we have Bullhead City 30min away located right on the Colorado River with Katherine Landing. If you like nature, you have the opportunity to enjoy the spring flowers just outside Oatman, AZ 30 min west of us and also get to experience forestry and wildlife year round and even snow in winter, just 20min northeast of us in the Hualapai Mountains.Job Description:Position for the 24/25 School YearSummary/ObjectiveTo administer and deliver health services to each student and create a climate of health and well-being on the assigned campus.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

  • Responds to all internal and external customers, as it relates to the position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner
  • Sets up student health records and emergency cards
  • Reviews all student records for any health needs
  • Orders and maintains school health and first aid supplies
  • Organizes and helps with all screening programs for vision, hearing, scoliosis, lice checks, and immunizations
  • Prepares re-screen lists
  • Records and updates individual student records on screenings, immunizations, etc.
  • Administers daily prescription and over-the-counter medications to students in accordance with school board policy under the supervision of the school administrator and maintains accurate records of medication given
  • Maintains daily log of all students seen in the health office
  • Completes accident reports clearly and concisely for all accidents
  • Supervises enrollment of students with regard to proper immunization history
  • Screens all new students for vision, hearing, and immunization history
  • Administers first aid as needed
  • Duplicates and distributes educational and instructional materials on health
  • Provides hygiene-related demonstrations and services in the classroom as needed
  • Notifies principal in any and all emergencies
  • Notifies principal of any situation that might be considered child abuse or neglect
  • Compiles periodic and year-end reports for state and district
  • Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations, and rules
  • Performs related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner

Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkAt-Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work or a minimum number of days or hours.This is a 9-month, 40-hour per week position. The employee will work ten hours per day Monday through Thursday. Extended work hours may occasionally be required.Required Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentRequired Certifications/Licenses forATTENDANTValid CPR & First Aid card – must be able to obtain within 30 days of hireAIDE/EMT/PARAMEDIC

  • Current Emergency Medical Technician license/certificate (to be maintained) OR
  • Current Paramedic license (to be maintained) OR
  • Current CNA, LNA, LPN, LVN license or certificate (to be maintained)

REGISTERED NURSECurrent license (to be maintained)Pay is based on licensure:Salary Grade/FamilySchool Support 2/Classified – AttendantSchool Support 6/Classified – Licensed AideSchool Support 8/Classified – Registered NurseWork Authorization/Security ClearanceMust be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
