This role will lead a dynamic team, manage the marketing budget, and collaborate with various departments to ensure the YMCA’s mission and values are effectively communicated to the community. The AVP of Communication and Marketing is critical in promoting the YMCA’s mission and values, ensuring effective communication with members and the broader community. Hiring Range: $119,000 to $150,000 annually Responsibilities:Communication Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive communication plans to enhance the YMCA’s visibility and reputation within the community.
  • Lead Crisis Communication: Oversee crisis communication strategies to manage and mitigate any potential issues that could impact the YMCA’s image.
  • Enhance Storytelling: Drive storytelling efforts to highlight the YMCA’s impact on individuals and communities, ensuring compelling and consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Executive Communication: Develop and manage executive communication, including speeches, presentations, and internal messages, to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Social Media Management: Oversee developing and implementing social media strategies to engage and inform members and the broader community.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and analyze membership campaigns, partnerships, and other initiatives to drive growth and engagement.
  • Brand Management: Ensure brand compliance and consistency across all communication materials and channels.
  • Community Engagement: Coordinate special events, outreach programs, and partnerships with local media and community organizations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze marketing campaigns, using data to make informed decisions and improve outcomes.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and Manage Team: Lead and manage the marketing and communications team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Foster Collaboration: Encourage collaboration within the team and across departments to ensure cohesive and effective communication strategies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Strong understanding of YMCA Family, Healthy Living, and Youth Development Programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Experience working in a mission-driven, diverse business environment.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Power BI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
  • The ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.Expected Hours of Work:Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
