Description: The Director of Support Services has the responsibility to serve as staff officer to the Superintendent; providing advice as to the wise use of the District’s resources, recommending good business and management practices with consideration of legal requirements, and assisting with the preparation of agenda items for School Board meetings and to ensure the smooth pursuance and successful fulfillment of the functions of transportation, food services, custodial, maintenance and other support staff areas. The Director will work collaboratively with Project Managers, Construction Consultants and Administrative Team members.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Coordinate on-going activities of the Transportation Department to ensure optimum employee commitment and exemplary customer services.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervise all District assigned personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with District procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
