Disciplines in which Ph.D. Scholars will be enrolled in the University through RET and RET-Exempted categories in the academic session 2012-13:

IMPORTANT:  

NET (JRF), NET (LS) and GATE qualified candidates shall be eligible for direct admission (besides other categories of candidates listed at Section H of this information bulletin) without appearing in RET. However, if candidates belonging to NET (LS)/ GATE wish to be considered for BHU research fellowship, they will have to appear in RET and be admitted/ short-listed as RET candidate (except for faculty of Engineering and Technology where existing fellowship norms shall apply).

Engineering & Technology Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Management, Materials Science & Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Pharmaceutics, Systems Engineering. 

Note :

(i)         In all of the aforesaid disciplines admission to the Ph.D. Programme in the Departments of in Faculty of Engineering & Technology admission will be through NET-JRF/ NET-LS /GATE/GPAT* (*for registration/admission in Pharmaceutics only) only. For Direct Admission (RET-exempted), see section H.

(ii)       Candidates holding non-engineering degree and intending to seek admission to the disciplines under Faculty of Engineering and Technology shall consult Appendix II for determining eligibility of their PG level subject for such disciplines provided they have valid GATE score card/ NET qualified certificate.
